Description of Planned Activities
Creating this bank will first necessitate recruiting volunteers and setting up administrative procedures for using the bank. Second, language training will be provided for volunteers from the community, especially the English-speaking community. Training for Anglophone volunteers will need adapting so that they gain a solid grasp of the terminology used by French-speaking personnel and are thus able to convey information to elderly English-speaking users. In cooperation with the Megantic English Community Development Corporation (MCDC), this initiative addressing the Anglophone community will put a special focus on seniors. Third, we will see that lexicons are widely available to the personnel of all area institutions and organizations. Fourth, the project will extend to community agencies, social economy enterprises, family medicine groups and non-institutional resources. A project manager will be assigned given the extent of collaboration involved.
