SANDEEP BANERJEE is Assistant Professor of English at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ. His research focuses on Anglophone, Bengali, and Hindi literature from colonial and postcolonial South Asia; Bengali and Hindi film; literary and social theory. He is the author of Spatial Utopianism and Indian Decolonization: Pre-Figurations of the Postcolony (London, 2019). His articles have been published (or forthcoming) in Modern Asian Studies, Victorian Literature and Culture, Mediations and New Global Studies in addition to several anthologies. He is a General Editor of the Routledge Series in the Cultures of the Global Cold War, and a member of the editorial collective of the journal positions: asia critique. A recipient of grants from the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Société et culture (FRQSC) and the Gerda Henkel Stiftung in Germany, he is currently researching the ecocritical imagination of the colonial Himalaya for his second book project.
