BRENDA CLEARY is currently finishing her Masters of Nursing degree with a research emphasis on the moral experiences of children with Osteogenesis Imperfecta. She recently completed compiling a volume of research poetry as part of a large scale art exhibit to be unveiled Winter 2020. She has a passion for writing biographies in the third person, evocative medical humanities, social justice and working with children. As a community arts and health professional prior to coming to nursing she has worked with numerous groups throughout her career: Indigenous youth, children of migrant farmworkers, high school dropouts, domestic violence shelter residents, day laborers, undocumented students, war widows and children of the Guatemalan Mayan genocide. Most recently Brenda Cleary blended her passion for creative arts, non-profit management and health promotion by designing and directing arts-based well-being initiatives in conjunction with Boulder County Public Health Department in her native Colorado.
