"What motivates me most in research is that I can then convey my results to the population and professionals. I consider having a responsibility to share knowledge with the community", said Dr. Pennestri to the Integrated University Health and Social Services Centres (CIUSSS).Â
CIUSSS reports "Personal work-life reconciliation poses a challenge for many women-- even more so in the field of research since it is a competitive world in which productivity is often valued more than work-life balance. Dr. Pennestri adapts to this reality by drawing on her experiences and questions as a mother to guide her study choices.
She is currently conducting a project on parental and infant sleep during pregnancy and the first months of life, for which recruitment is in full swing.Â
