Allison Gonsalves, Adam Dubé Win 2020 Faculty of Education Teaching Award!
McGill's Faculty of Education is proud to celebrate the teaching excellence of Allison Gonsalves, Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE) and Adam Dubé, Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology (ECP), through this year's Teaching Awards.
Dr. Allison Gonsalves has been recognized for her outstanding teaching with The Heather Reisman and Gerald Schwartz Award for Excellence in Teaching. Established in 2011 through a gift from Heather Munroe-Blum and Leonard Solomon-Blum, this award recognizes outstanding teaching by a member of our faculty. Dr. Gonsalves is an Assistant Professor in DISE. She teaches science education courses in the Bachelor of Education program, the MATL program, and the graduate concentration in mathematics and science education. Her research draws on sociocultural theories of identity and learning to investigate students’ engagement in science, with a focus on gender and equity in higher education and out-of-school science learning contexts.
Dr. Adam Dubé is the winner of the Faculty of Education Distinguished Teaching Award, honoring excellence in teaching over several years, acknowledging distinguished teaching in all its forms including large lectures, seminars, tutorials, thesis and student teacher supervision at McGill and beyond. Adam Dubé as been recognized for his engaging learning environment. Dr. Dubé is an Assistant Professor in the Learning Sciences Program in ECP, and his research focuses on educational technologies (serious games, tablet computers, digital assistants) and mathematical cognition.
