Description of Planned Activities
This project addresses the need for health professionals with a good knowledge of English to work with the Anglophone population in Abitibi-Temiscamingue. The project offers ten bursaries to nurses during their studies in order to ensure their retention in the region. It is also increasing the support for students on internships in the region and offers specialized English language courses to nursing students. This last aspect of the project greatly improves nurse-patient communication and relationships. The project has made contact with a range of agencies in which the nursing students could work.
