Introducing the Associate Chair for Faculty Life & Mentorship—a pivotal role that will better align with our mission to deliver world-class clinical care, research, and education while supporting the continuous professional development of our surgeons. This new positionÌýreplaces the Associate Chair of Faculty Development, and is designed to craft and implement a strategic plan for professional development, ensuring that every McGill surgeon has access to mentorship and growth opportunities from recruitment through retirement.
The Associate Chair will collaborate closely with the Chair, Division Directors, hospital surgeons-in-chief, and the Associate Chair for Education to identify needs, develop strategic plans, and evaluate their impact. By working with the McGill Faculty Development Office and other faculty programs, the Associate Chair will optimize existing resources and spearhead new initiatives, fostering a culture of engagement, recognition, and connection within the Department.
