Talía Malagón is a cancer epidemiologist, Assistant Professor in the Department of Oncology, and Associate Scientist at St Mary’s Research Centre. Her research focuses on the population-level impacts of cancer screening and primary cancer prevention, with a particular focus on human papillomavirus (HPV) and cervical cancer, but increasingly also the impacts of emerging multi-cancer screening technologies. She is also interested in the interplay between the social determinants of health and how these influence cancer risk and survival. Her research methods include using health decision modeling and longitudinal analyses of cohorts and health administrative databases.
