Aviane Auguste is an epidemiologist and health services researcher focusing on cancer risks, care, and outcomes. His research interests are investigating the effectiveness of community-based cancer prevention in low-income settings and developing countries; understanding the unique characteristics of small island health systems (e.g. overseas travel for care) and their impact on outcomes of patients diagnosed with cancer and other chronic illnesses; and strengthening of health research capacity in low-and-middle-income countries. He is the co-leader of the head and neck cancer working group of the African-Caribbean Cancer Consortium (AC3) which investigates cancer disparities in populations of African descent.
