Miguel G. Sánchez
Miguel G. Sánchez is originally from Bogota, Colombia, where he studied Philology and Languages at the National University of Colombia. He also holds a Bachelor’s in International Studies and Cooperation from the University of Montreal and a Master’s in Second Language Education from Ï㽶ÊÓƵ. He has been an ESL/EFL educator for around ten years, working in higher education in Colombia. More recently, he has been an academic consultant for bilingualism, organizing workshops on literacy development and SLA theories and practice for teachers in public and private high schools in Bogota. This experience motivated him to pursue a Ph.D. in Educational Studies at McGill. His focus is on multimodal literacy and pluriliteracies development and students’ motivation and engagement in second language education in Colombia. He keeps a critical approach to education to advance social justice in the educational system and help close the gap between public and private educational practices.
