Update #6: Osler Library of the History of Medicine
Space Update: The Osler Library of the History of Medicine space has been repaired and reconstructed. The third and fourth floor spaces surrounding the Osler Library and managed by the Faculty of Medicine are now being renovated. As a result, the Osler Library of the History of Medicine will be operational following the completion of this construction project. Library services in McIntyre are expected to resume in 2021.
System maintenance: Ebook Central update December 20-21
ProQuest will be performing maintenance to the Ebook Central platform overnight from 9:00pm on Friday, December 20 to 7:00am on Saturday, December 21.
Ebook Central will be unavailable during this time.

Call for Applications | Research Grants & Awards at the Osler Library
Each year the Osler Library of the History of Medicine offers a number of awards and travel grants to local and international historians, physicians, graduate and post-doctoral students, and others whose research touches upon the history of medicine. From now through 10 January 2020, we are accepting applications for the following awards/grants:
Exam Period Access to Nahum Gelber Law Library for Fall 2019
As of November 26, McGill students are able to access the Nahum Gelber Law Library 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As agreed between the Students' Society of 㽶Ƶ (SSMU) and the Law Students Association (LSA), the Nahum Gelber Law Library will limit access to the three upper floors of the library to Law students only during the December 4 to 20examination period. Details are as follows:
Access to e-exams service restored
The e-exams service, a repository of course exams deposited by McGill instructors in the Library from April 2008-December 2012, has now been relaunched. All e-exams content that was available prior to our catalogue migration is now available in WorldCat Discovery, and a targeted search box for only the e-exams content is now available on the McGill Library web site here.

Please note, an electrical shutdown (to accommodate control work on a power line) is scheduled for the McLennan-Redpath Complex in the early hours morning hours of Friday, November 8 from 6:00 to 6:30am.
The power throughout the Complex will be affected and emergency lighting will only be available in hallways and exit areas.

Suspension of McGill eScholarship repository deposits from November 8, 2019 to early 2020
The McGill Library is excited to announce the migration of McGill’s open access institutional eScholarship repository to a new software system.
Because of this, we will be suspending any new deposits to the repository starting November 8, 2019. New deposits will again be accepted in early winter 2020.
Library branch closures - Thanksgiving Monday (October 14, 2019)
Please note that all Library branches except theHumanities and Social Sciences Librarywill be closed onMonday, October 14in observance of Thanksgiving.
The Humanities and Social Sciences Library will be open for study 24 hoursbut no services will be provided.
New Mac operating system and Endnote compatibility
Sometime between September and November of this year, Apple is releasing their new operating system, Catalina. Unfortunately, this new operating system will not support 32-bit applications - this includes Endnote.
Gale security incident and what it means for McGill Library users
Gale/Cengage, a publisher of several databases to which the McGill Library subscribes, including theGale Digital Scholar LabandGale Primary Sources, recentlyannounced a data breachof their systems.

RESOLVED: Catalogue issue: Loss of availability in brief results for non-electronic content
Update, September 17, 2019: The issue affecting brief availability display in the catalogue has been resolved. All brief results and Reserves records now display availability information correctly.
