Creutzfeldt-鈥婮akob Dis颅ease

CREUTZFELDT-鈥婮AKOB DIS颅EASE: A rare, ulti颅mately fatal dis颅or颅der of infec颅tious or genetic ori颅gin that typ颅i颅cally causes mem颅ory fail颅ure and behav颅ioral changes. A recently iden颅ti颅fied form called 鈥渧ari颅ant Creutzfeldt-鈥婮akob dis颅ease (cCJD)鈥� is the human dis颅or颅der thought to be caused by eat颅ing meat from cat颅tle affected by 鈥渕ad cow dis颅ease鈥� (bovine spongi颅form encephalopa颅thy). VCJD tends to appear in much younger indi颅vid颅u颅als than those affected by spo颅radic or inher颅ited Creutzfeldt-鈥婮akob.
