Baja Team
Ìý
The McGill Baja Racing Team is one of the oldest design teams at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ having been founded in 1984 and continues to be successful today. The Baja team is a group of undergraduate students who design, build, test, and race a Baja prototype vehicle in various competitions held across North America. In these competitions, not only is the performance of our vehicle evaluated, but also our team’s ability to follow the design cycle, reduce vehicle costs, and deliver a business and sales presentation. Our competitions force team members to troubleshoot and fix problems under high pressure situations while also understanding the business side of engineering.

Baja in winter

Every year, we design and build a new Baja to address any previous weaknesses and to continue to develop past strengths. We use reiterative designs, hands-on machining and assembly, and extensive testing and data analysis in order to create a lighter, faster, and more technologically advanced Baja every year. The aim of our project is to construct a Baja to dominate on an international level in both the racing and business aspects of competition.
