Students enrolled in the B.Sc. Kinesiology program may opt to take a Minor in Entrepreneurship to diversify their studies and open up possibilities in different career sectors in administration or management in sports organizations, sporting equipment corporations, and other relevant fields. Students will pursue six courses (or 18 credits) within theÌýDesautels Faculty of Management, covering management and entrepreneurship fundamentals. The Minor in Entrepreneurship requires an application and is restricted to students who have completed one year of university studies in the B.Sc. Kinesiology program, having earned a minimum CGPA of 3.0.Ìý

Program Requirement:

This Minor in Entrepreneurship is a collaboration of the Faculty of Education, Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education and the Desautels Faculty of Management. The program focuses on an entrepreneurial mindset to see opportunity in the world and provide training in an entrepreneurial method to bring opportunities for change to life. This program takes a democratized approach to entrepreneurship, with exposure to the diverse manifestations of entrepreneurship in the world including but not limited to new ventures, social enterprise, tech start-ups, cooperatives, corporate venturing, side hustles, and passion projects.

  • Students must be in Satisfactory academic standing (CGPA of at least 2.00)
  • Study Plan:ÌýStudents who wish to apply for the Kinesiology Minor must download and complete a prospectiveÌýstudy planÌýindicating their intended timeline for completing the required courses for the Minor.Ìý(See theÌýApplication Process & Required DocumentsÌýsection below to download the Study Plan.)
  • Former Faculty of Education undergraduate students who have transferred to another Faculty may be exempt from the Minor application. Application Process & Required Documents
  1. Download and complete theÌýStudy Plan.
  2. Complete the onlineÌý You will be asked to upload your completed Study Plan.
  3. Selection & Decision:ÌýSeats in the Minor are randomly assigned by lottery, however, the feasibility of the proposed plan of study will also be taken into consideration, as will any number of the following: credits completed to date, CGPA, expected graduation date. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application over the summer.

  • Returning Minor studentsÌýshould always register for their Minor courses as soon as registration opens as many course sections fill up quickly.
