Sylvan Adams wins UCI Cycling World Championships in 65-69 Age Group

Congratulations to philanthropist Sylvan Adams, the namesake of McGill's Sylvan Adams Sports Science Institute, who finished first in the Masters 65-69 age group of the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships in Scotland on Friday. This event, open to all athletes, had more than 1,800 riders from 68 countries competing for one of 20 gold medals and rainbow jerseys. Then on Monday, Adams also finished first in his age bracket in the championship’s individual time trial, winning by more than one minute on the 22-kilometer course.Ìý

An Israeli-Canadian mogul and owner ofÌýthe Israel-Premier Tech cycling team, Adams is also spearheading an international three-stage cycling "Peace Race" in October 2024, which will be held in Israel, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, as a celebration of the Abraham Accords.
