Description of planned Activities
This project addresses a lack of health care professionals in the Estrie region to serve the Anglophone population. It consists of three objectives: 1- To encourage English-speaking high school students to consider taking up studies to become health care professionals; 2- To encourage English-speaking health care students studying in Montreal to come to Estrie to do their clinical placements, their externships and summer jobs in health care establishments; 3- To examine the possibility of setting up an English or bilingual Nursing program at Champlain College - Lennoxville campus. The first year (2005-06) was a start up year with significant actions on all three objectives in 06-07 and 07-08. There were twelve interns in 07-08.
