Oups, this website is outdated! But Dialogue McGill has a new website!
On Sunday, March 24th and Monday, March 25th, 2013, the McGill Training and Retention of Health Professionals Project’s hosted a research conference entitled Breaking the barriers: Overcoming language and cultural barriers to the delivery of equitable health care services to linguistic minorities—Bringing together research and practice. The focus of the conference was to discuss the challenges encountered in attempting to address language and cultural barriers in the delivery of equitable healthcare services to linguistic minorities and to find ways to bring together research and practice in this area. The goal of the conference was to articulate the nature of the newly emerging field "the study of cross-linguistic and cross-cultural barriers in healthcare communication" by bringing together leading thinkers and scholars from various complementary disciplines.
