Curriculum
Year 1:
- The complete program is broken into segments and begins with 6 months of training in clinical Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
- The resident then joins the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences for the Introduction to Clinical Medicine course in January
Years 2 and 3:
- Â Completion of requirements of MDCM programs in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
- During elective rotations, the resident is assigned to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical service or other rotations approved by the OMFS Program Director.
Year 4:
- The resident follows the PGY1 General Surgery program. This includes rotations in Anesthesia, Intensive Care Unit and Trauma Service.
Years 5 and 6:
- Exclusively dedicated to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical service
- The resident acquires higher order surgical skills and assumes increased responsibilities for the management of all in-patient and ambulatory patients in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
