Changing How We See Mental Illness
Offered by the Health and Well-being Program
Stigma is a major barrier preventing many people living with mental health problems from seeking help. Individuals with mental illnesses often report the stigma is worse than the illness itself. People are afraid of being labelled as weak, crazy or even dangerous. In this talk, Micheal Pietrus from the Mental Health Commission of Canada, discusses the different types of stigma and provides examples of how everyone can be a champion against stigma.
