Current research: 

Webster Chair Professor in Mining Engineering

Dr. Ferri Hassani has been a distinguished member of Ï㽶ÊÓƵ since 1983, currently holding the esteemed position of Webster Chair Professor in Mining Engineering. With a strong foundation in mining engineering, rock mechanics, mine energy, and mine backfill, Dr. Hassani's research is focused on innovative solutions to advancing mining engineering.

Throughout his career, Dr. Hassani has demonstrated leadership and commitment to education and research. He has supervised over 200 PhD and M.Eng. students and research scientists, fostering the next generation of engineers and researchers. He has several patents .His prolific contributions include over 300 scientific articles, books, and reports, cementing his reputation as a leading expert in his field.

Dr. Hassani has also played a pivotal role in the global mining community by chairing numerous international conferences, such as Mine Backfill in 1989 and 2007, the World Mining Congress in 2013, and the International Society of Rock Mechanics Congress in 2015. His efforts have contributed to the development of mining engineering practices worldwide.
