Ken Marra has been a Director of Max Bell Foundation since 2000. Â
Mr. Marra joined the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) in 1997 after spending 15 years in private industry, mostly in northern Canada, Brazil and California as a petroleum reservoir engineer, an environmental consultant, and a construction manager.  He managed state-funded hazardous waste site cleanups prior to joining MassDEP’s Program & Policy Development group in Boston, where he formulates environmental regulations and policies and leads MassDEP’s Light Nonaqueous Phase Liquids (LNAPL) Workgroup. Mr. Marra represents Massachusetts on the Interstate Technology & Regulatory Council and has published a number of papers on the subsurface fate and transport of petroleum and other LNAPL constituents. Mr. Marra also sits on the state’s Administrative Review Board for the $500 million Petroleum Product Cleanup Fund.Â
He received an A.B. in Engineering Science from Dartmouth College, a M.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines, and a M.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering from Stanford University. He is a Registered Professional Civil Engineer.
