Garvin Brown

Retired Chairman, Brown-Forman

Garvin Brown has recently retired as the Chairman of Brown-Forman Corp. (NYSE:BFB), after almost fourteen years in the role. Founded by his great, great grandfather George Garvin Brown in 1870, Brown-Forman is the distiller of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, and other fine brands.

Mr. Brown began his employment at Brown-Forman in 1996 in field sales in New York; went on to enjoy corporate roles in Louisville, Kentucky, and brand management and regional leadership roles in Europe.

Mr. Brown was raised in Montreal, Canada, and is a graduate of Ï㽶ÊÓƵ (B.A. Political Science & History), the University of British Columbia (M.A. Political Science) and London Business School (M.B.A).

In his personal life, Mr. Brown recently endowed the Diamond-Brown Chair in Democratic Studies at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ and is the Co-Chair of McGill's Bicentennial Campaign, supports the Diamond-Brown Research Fellow for Economic Sanctions, Standards and Strategy at the IISS, in London, and is an incoming Trustee at the UK for UNHCR.

He resides in London, England with his wife, Steffanie Diamond Brown and are proud McGill parents.
