Marija Popovic, PhD., FCCPM
Marija is a board-certified Medical Physicist at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Health Centre, and she also serves as an Assistant Professor in the Gerald Bronfman Department of Oncology at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ. She holds a PhD in Medical Physics and Applied Radiation Sciences from McMaster University in Hamilton, ON, and has completed a clinical residency in Medical Radiation Physics at Juravinski Cancer Centre.
At the heart of Marija’s professional life is patient care. She works in a multidisciplinary team with the primary goal of providing safe and effective radiation treatment for cancer patients. The team consists of radiation therapists, nurses, radiation oncologists, nutritionists, social workers, as well as patients and their families.
In addition to her clinical work, Marija is actively involved in teaching graduate students in Medical Physics at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ and radiation therapy students at Dawson College. She holds the position of Education Chair for the Canadian Organization of Medical Physicists and contributes to several international committees and workgroups focused on improving teaching methods and developing educational resources. Marija is dedicated to advancing interprofessional collaborative practice and enhancing the quality and safety of patient care.
