Dr. Donald G. Hurst Fellowship

Established in 2022 by Dorothy Reid in memory of her father, Dr. Donald Geoffrey Hurst, BSc 1933, MSc 1934, PhD 1936, former President of the Canadian Atomic Energy Control Board and a recipient of the Canadian Nuclear Association’s Outstanding Contribution Award.

Eligibility Awarded by the Faculty of Science on the basis of academic merit and research excellence to one or more outstanding Master’s or doctoral candidates in the Department of Physics.
Value Varies. May be renewable.

Dow-Hickson Fellowship in Physics

Endowed by the late Professor J.W.A. Hickson.

Eligibility Awarded to a graduate student of any approved university proceeding to a higher degree in any branch of physics at McGill, or by a McGill graduate pursuing such studies elsewhere.
Value Two fellowships of $6,500 each
Application Current graduate students apply to the Chair, Department of Physics.
