Application Instructions

Applying

Applications for the Graduate Certificate in Foundations in Health Sciences Education are submitted via Slate.

Please read the program’s admission requirements fully.

Note: The program only accepts deferrals under extraordinary circumstances.

Prior to starting an online application:

Slate Online Application

STEP 1: Complete and submit the Graduate Studies Slate online application form.

*In order to finalize and submit your Slate application, a non-refundable application fee is required.

STEP 2: Upload Supporting Documents via Slate.

Upload (in PDF format) the following supporting documents by the application deadline:

  1. Transcripts: An unofficial copy of your complete university-level academic record to date must be uploaded to the online application. (Quebec residents: CEGEP transcripts are not required). All transcripts received via the upload process are considered unofficial. If you are offered admission, you will also need to provide official transcripts (sent to McGill by mail in a sealed envelope directly from the institution). Your offer of admission will be contingent upon the receipt and verification of these official documents. Please do not send these official records until we request them from you.
  2. Personal Statement: A statement NO LONGER than one (1) page in length must be uploaded to your online application. Please write PERSONAL STATEMENT and provide your FIRST and LAST NAME at the top of the page of your PDF document. The personal statement should include the following information:
      1. Your reason(s) for applying to the program;
      2. How you intend to use what you learn in the program; and
      3. Any additional relevant information about yourself that you wish to bring to the attention of the admissions committee, such as:
        • Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) (optional): McGill would like to give you this opportunity to disclose any information about your identities and/or experiences. This information will facilitate access to any available financial aid and/or awards available to you during the application process. Rest assured that all personal data submitted will be kept confidential and used only for operational decision-making; your personal information will never be shared with any internal or external bodies, nor with any instructors, supervisors, or fellow students.   3. Curriculum Vitae (CV): A completed curriculum vitae using the provided template - Curriculum Vitae Form – must be uploaded. Please be sure to convert to PDF prior to uploading to Slate. IMPORTANT: Personal CVs will be rejected.
  4. Letters of Reference: Within the online application, applicants must provide valid institutional e-mail addresses for two (2) references. Ï㽶ÊÓƵ will send an email to each referee identified on the application form, asking for a reference in support of their application. Referees will be invited to use the provided link to access the secure application where they will be required to answer questions about the applicant and upload a letter of reference in PDF format.

STEP 3: Submit your English Language Proficiency Test Scores
Where applicable, arrange for test scores (TOEFL, IELTS) to be sent to McGill directly from the testing agency. You must indicate the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ institution code: 0935

Tuition and Fees

Tuition fees for this program can be found on the Student Accounts website. On this site, you will find tuition fees and charges for each semester. These may fluctuate based on annual adjustments to the fees and charges.

A $600 CAD non-refundable deposit is required upon admission.
