Master of Science in Public Health (MScPH)

Cutting-edge methodology 

McGill’s MScPH puts the science into public health. We train population and public health researchers, educators and practitioners who excel and lead in their chosen career path.

Graduates assume a variety of rewarding roles, nationally and internationally in both public and private institutions.

Beyond the classroom

MScPH students gain valuable experience though a minimum 14-week practicum in a research or practice setting. 

Areas of study

Students may choose from among five streams of study, including: Epidemiology, Global Health, Health Policy & Ethics, Infectious Disease and Population Dynamics.

Who should apply?

McGill MScPH students come from a variety of academic backgrounds including the basic sciences, health sciences, engineering as well as social sciences, such as sociology and economics. We particularly welcome applicants who are returning to academia after spending time in the work force. 

Career opportunities

Public Health graduates become educators, researchers, communicators, or program designers. There are opportunities in the private sector, in research, and all levels of the public sector, as well as with NGOs.

Our graduates have gone on to study and work in academics or private and public organizations, both in Canada and internationally. They have continued to advanced PhD and clinical studies studies or work as research coordinators and public health practitioners.
