The Canadian Committee of Graduate Students in Education (CCGSE) Mentorship Award is awarded annually in recognition of exceptional mentorship at the level of graduate instruction. This year the 2022 Canadian Committee for Graduate Students in Education (CCGSE) Mentorship Award was presented to Mindy Carter from the Department of Integrated Studies in Education.

Jade LaFontaine, Master's student in Second Language Education and lecturer at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, is the winner of the prestigious Indigenous Graduate Student Award of the 2022 Canadian Association of Applied Linguistics (CAAL/ACLA) conference. This important award recognizes excellence in graduate student research submitted to the 2022 CAAL/ACLA conference.
Applied Theatre Students Perform "Explain Quebec; Quebec Explain!"
On Friday May 13, 2022, Applied Theatre students from The Faculty of Education and Nursing put on a show entitled "Explain Quebec; Quebec Explain!" for the public, outside of the Redpath Museum, led by their Professor, Dr. Mindy R. Carter.
Exploring topics such as discrimination and systemic racism, the gathered audience had the opportunity to dialogue about these issues and to then consider, through theatre, possibly pathways for change.
Faculty of Education Helps Ukranians
On May 5th members of the Faculty of Education launched a four-part series of live, interactive seminars to assist Ukrainian teachers, psychologists and support staff in helping people, particularly children, deal with the horrific consequences of the on-going war. In Memoriam: Dr. Jacques Rebuffot (1936-2022)
Dr. Jacques Rebuffot, Emeritus Professor of Second Language Education at McGill’s Faculty of Education, passed away on January 5, 2022, at the age of 85. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 60 years, Denise, and their three children (Geneviève, Anne, and Philip) and seven grandchildren.
