Congratulations to William Dawson Scholar Award Recipient Bassam Khoury

The Office of the Provost and Vice Principal (Academic) has bestowed prestigious internal recognition awards to 27 McGill professors for outstanding world-class scholarship and research excellence.

Twelve tenure-track assistant or associate professors received William Dawson Scholar (WDS) awards, including Bassam Khoury from the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology.

Seminar in Special Topics: Introduction to Professional Engagement with Indigenous Peoples in Canada

An introduction to key considerations in professional engagement with Indigenous Peoples in Canada, including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples. In the pursuit of professional careers in education, counselling, research, and other sectors, students will learn to respectfully engage and work with Indigenous populations in a culturally safe manner that strives to be consistent with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s calls to action.

Faculty of Education Statement: Victims of the Kamloops Residential School

On behalf of the members of McGill Faculty of Education, we mourn the tragic loss of 215 Indigenous children who were found in a mass grave at the site of a former residential school in Kamloops, British Columbia. Today, McGill lowers its flags in recognition of this tragedy, and we at the Faculty echo the sentiments of the McGill Provost. As our academics, staff, students, and alumni grieve together, we also stand together in support of our Indigenous community members.
