Marie-Hélène Pennestri Featured at McGill Infant Mental Health Day
The 31st McGill Infant Mental Health Day will address the current challenges of working in a clinical setting with infants and their parents who presents sleep challenges. Invited guests are in the forefront of international research and clinical practice in this field. This conference is of interest to physicians, nurses, social workers, educators/psychoeducators, occupational therapists, speech language therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists working with infants and very young children and their families.
This event is an accredited group learning activity as defined by the Order of Psychologists of Quebec.
Marie-Hélène Pennestri, PhD., ECP, will lead “Sleep in Infancy: What if our Expectations are Too High?" Dr. Pennestri is an Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies with Ï㽶ÊÓƵ. She investigates the development of the sleep-wake cycle in infancy, in relation with physical and mental health, family functioning, and parental expectations. Her research focusses on vulnerable populations. She completed her doctorate at Université de Montréal and was trained at the Centre for Advanced Sleep Medicine, where she specialized in sleep, sleep disorders and cardiovascular function.
