The duration of the program is three years and focuses on the theory and practice of clinical oral medicine. During these years, residents will be expected to complete clinical rotations in oral medicine at the Faculty and Faculty-affiliated hospitals. The clinical rotations are designed to provide residents with hands-on experience in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of oral diseases and conditions as well as oral manifestations of systemic diseases and patients with head and neck cancers. Students will also participate in weekly case conferences and seminars, where they will be expected to present cases and discuss treatment options with Faculty and peers.
Additionally, students will be required to complete rotations in various medical and surgical disciplines, including Anatomical Pathology, Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT), Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Rheumatology, Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology, Neurology, and Pain.
