Students who complete the program will be eligible for specialty qualification through the National Dental Specialty Examination, the Fellowship Examination of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and the certification examination of the American Board of Oral Medicine. The program begins on July 1 of each year.
According to the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, "Oral Medicine and/or Oral Pathology is the branch and specialty of dentistry concerned with the diagnosis, nature and primarily non-surgical management of oral, maxillofacial, and temporomandibular diseases and disorders, including dental management of patients with medical complications."
All applicants must apply to both the Graduate Diploma and Master’s in Dental Sciences (Thesis) program, as you will be completing the MSc (Thesis) in conjunction with the Graduate Diploma in Oral Medicine. Both programs must be completed successfully for the diploma to be awarded.
