Dr. Keovathanak Khim is from Cambodia. He has a Bachelor in Education (1997 Cambodia), Master of Public Health (2001, New York University, USA), and a Doctor of Philosophy in health systems and financing (2014, University of Melbourne, Australia). In 2018, he joined the McGill Department of Family Medicine as a postdoctoral fellow, with funding support from Grand Challenges Canada. His research under the co-supervision of Dr. Anne Andermann and Prof. Tibor Schuster investigates the effectiveness of tablet applications in improving newborn care in Cambodia.
Previously, Dr. Khim worked for the University of Health Sciences in Cambodia and for different health organizations, including the Reproductive and Child Health Alliance (RACHA), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Population Services International (PSI) and as an independent health sector consultant. His research interests include results-based financing and its relations with quality of care, human resources, staff performance and job motivation and health information and technology.
