Congratulations to Alice F茅lix da Silva (BCom鈥�22) on being recognized by Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), the United Nations' largest initiative to advance responsible management education in the world, for her outstanding contributions while representing McGill Desautels as the 2021/22 PRME Global Students (PGS) Regional Leader in North America!

Th茅adora Sauv茅 (BCom鈥�22) believes that the power of the Law can be a powerful tool in making peace. The 2022 Valedictorian has plans to study Law at McGill, and was recently named one of 11 purposeful women leaders who are positively impacting the world. Sauv茅 has taken on a leadership role with Million Peacemakers, a youth initiative that seeks to co-create a culture of peace. To promote conflict resolution, the organization plans to work with other youth-led organizations and educational institutions.

When Louis Morissette (BCom鈥�95) was studying at Desautels, he was also performing in comedy shows. And when he went to the 脡cole Nationale de l鈥檋umour, he found himself wondering what the business plan for comedy could be.

In the years since then, he鈥檚 figured it out. Morissette is the co-founder and President of the production company KOTV and has been an actor and producer for television and film.

While he was still a law student, Dick Pound (BCom鈥�62, BCL鈥�67) competed in the 1960 Olympics in Rome. But that was only the beginning of the Desautels alumnus鈥� decades-long involvement in the Olympic movement. Pound was elected to the International Olympic Committee in 1978, and is now its longest-serving member. He has been the IOC鈥檚 Vice-President and the President of the World Anti-Doping Agency, and as he approaches retirement, he credits his success to a no-nonsense approach and an ability to get the job done.

Thibault Trancart (BCom'15), Desautels Faculty of Management's first blind graduate, is helping make one of the world鈥檚 biggest consumer goods companies more accessible. Trancart is a Manager in Responsible Beauty for Europe Hair Care at Procter & Gamble, and has become one of its Accessibility Champions. 鈥淥riginally, I didn鈥檛 want to be the blind guy working on accessibility,鈥� he says. But Trancart, intrigued by the practicality of the work, now addresses the challenges he personally faces. 鈥淚鈥檓 80-90% on accessibility and can鈥檛 see myself doing anything else.鈥�

When customers don鈥檛 pay their bills, it can be a major drain on a business. To collect unpaid bills, creditors have long relied on credit control specialists who use techniques like outbound phone calls. But that鈥檚 20th-century technology, and Dimitri Raziev (BCom鈥�09) spotted an opportunity to modernize the approach.

Abigail Hunter (BCom鈥�16) wants to usher in the clean energy revolution. She represents the Government of Quebec as an attach茅e in Washington, DC, where she works to help lawmakers understand the benefits of working with Qu茅bec 鈥� like how its hydroelectricity and energy storage can supplement less predictable solar and wind energy generation. While at Desautels, Hunter learned about impact investing, social enterprise and advancing ethical, social and governance standards. She credits this education with helping her choose a career path.
