The McGill Libraries are delighted to announce that two colleagues, Dean Guylaine Beaudry and staff member Anne-Marie Fournier, were awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal in December 2024. The honour highlights the exceptional contributions of Canadians, many of whom work behind the scenes, making a significant impact on their community, their province, and sometimes even at the national and international levels.

To execute repairs, Facilities Management and Ancillary Services is planning a water shutdown on Wednesday, December 18 from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m., which will affect the McLennan Library Building only, including all its water fountains and washrooms.
Please use the water fountains, sinks, and washrooms located in the Redpath Library Building during this period.

As part of their transition to the Libby app, OverDrive are retiring their legacy OverDrive app for Fire tablets on January 31, 2025.
After this date, the legacy OverDrive app sunset will be complete on all platforms. Users with Fire tablets running Android 9 or higher can install the Libby app instead.

㽶Ƶ Libraries, in collaboration with Concordia Library and eConcordia are pleased to announce the launch of . This series of nine short micromodules (approximately 10 minutes each) introduces the basics of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), exploring its potential uses in teaching, learning, research, and everyday tasks. Additional modules address responsible use, privacy, and security considerations.

As of Monday, December 1, McGill students are able to access the Nahum Gelber Law Library 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As agreed between the Students' Society of 㽶Ƶ (SSMU) and the Law Students Association (LSA), the Nahum Gelber Law Library will limit access to the three upper floors of the library to Law students only during the December 2 to 20 examination period.

Due to impact from the façade restoration underway on the Frank Dawson Adams Building (FDA), the campus facing entrance to the building will be closed on October 15 and October 16, 2024, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM both days, affecting access to the Schulich Library of Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Engineering.

Please note that all libraries except for the Humanities and Social Sciences Library (McLennan-Redpath Complex) will be closed on Monday, September 2nd, Labour Day.
The Humanities and Social Sciences Library will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. for study only. No services will be offered.
