Please take note that the Octagon Room in the Islamic Studies Library will reopen on Friday, August 11. It has been closed due to construction since July 20.

Please note that the water will be shut off for fifteen-minute periods for a water line test in the McLennan Library Building on Monday, August 21, 2023, between 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM and in the Redpath Library Building between 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM.
Please note that water fountains and washrooms will not be available at the locations and during the times listed above.

The room has been undergoing intermittent renovations since June.
The Octagon Room in the Islamic Studies Library will be closed on Wednesday July 19th & Thursday July 20th. The space is over the next six months. Please note that other library spaces in the Islamic Studies Library will be open during regular hours.

EndNote 21 is now available to the McGill community. Installers for both Mac and PC are available on the . EndNote 21 has the same functionality as EndNote 20 and comes with a new feature - colour coded tagging (similar to Zotero). Before installing EndNote 21, please make sure to uninstall EndNote 20.

The power shutdown scheduled to take place in the McLennan-Redpath Library Complex, Armstrong, and Bronfman buildings the week of July 31 OR August 7 between 5:00 am and 10:00 am has been postponed to a later date. In anticipation of the transformation of the McLennan-Redpath Library Complex, some excavation work will be conducted on select areas of the lower west field adjacent to the McLennan and Redpath Library buildings. The McLennan-Redpath Library buildings are part of a designated heritage site. Standard protocol requires that McGill conduct an archeological excavation before starting any large-scale construction project.
The Octagon Room in the Islamic Studies Library will be undergoing intermittent renovations over the next six months and will be closed during those periods. We will let the McGill community know each time.

The Society for the History of Natural History (SHNH) is delighted to award the SHNH President’s Award 2023 to Victoria Dickenson for her work on the Gwillim Project: Women, Environment, and Networks of Knowledge and Exchange in Early Nineteenth Century Madras. The Award recognizes an individual or team’s contribution and impact in promoting and improving accessibility, inclusivity, and diversity to the study of the history of natural history.
As of April 1, McGill students are able to access the Nahum Gelber Law Library 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As agreed between the Students' Society of Ï㽶ÊÓƵ (SSMU) and the Law Students Association (LSA), the Nahum Gelber Law Library will limit access to the three upper floors of the library to Law students only during the April 14 to 28 examination period. Details are as follows:
- A valid McGill ID card is required for access to the Nahum Gelber Law Library outside of Info Desk Service Hours.
