Exploring the exercise-body image relationship in women aged 45-75 years:
A cross-sectional study
Research group is looking for volunteers to take part in a research study that explores the role of exercise in managing body image and health behaviours in women aged 45-75 years.
In the latest issue of Our Schools/Our Selves, two articles were published related to Law 21.
One is a first person account written by second year B.Ed student Jana Naguib on her feelings about the Law as a Teacher Education student who wears hijab.
The other, co-authored by DISE Professor Bronwen Low and colleagues with the OFDE, reports on the findings of a province-wide survey on the impact of Law 21 on faculties of education.
With convocation being virtual again this year, McGill Education still found ways to create dialogues within our community. Dr. Philip S.S. Howard was presented with the Carrie M. Derick Award for Graduate Supervision and Teaching at the June 2021 virtual ceremony.

On behalf of the members of McGill Faculty of Education, we mourn the tragic loss of 215 Indigenous children who were found in a mass grave at the site of a former residential school in Kamloops, British Columbia. Today, McGill lowers its flags in recognition of this tragedy, and we at the Faculty echo the sentiments of the McGill Provost. As our academics, staff, students, and alumni grieve together, we also stand together in support of our Indigenous community members.
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the untimely passing of Dr. Aziz Choudry. Originally from New Zealand, Aziz joined us at McGill in 2008 and was an Associate Professor in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education until recently when he became a Visiting Professor at the University of Johannesburg’s Faculty of Education.

Associate Professor Annie Savard (Department of Integrated Studies in Education) was recently interviewed by the Times Colonist, a BC-based publication, about how Canadian students are performing in mathÂematics. Savard "...points out Quebec teachers have a clearer understanding of 'didactic' instruction, a concept championed in France and French-speaking countries. 'Knowing the content of the course isn’t enough,' Savard says. 'You need what we call didactic [teaching]. You need to unpack the content to make it accessible to students.'
