November 1st, 2023: A great day for Mrs. Manon Berthiaume

Manon BerthiaumeThe first of November of 2023 officially marked the last day at the Center Crépeau for our very dear and precious Manon Berthiaume as the senior administrative coordinator. The first day of November not only permanently marked the history of the Center but also the relationships of deep and sincere friendship that this great woman, Manon Berthiaume, has always been and continues to be.

On behalf of the current team at the Center, as well as all the people who have had the chance to work alongside Manon during her admirable career, we wish her the sweetest and most serene retirement with her partner, children, and grandchildren.

Manon, to put it simply: we will miss you. Thank you for making the Center a place where we wanted to be and return. With you at its heart, the Center shone at its brightest.

With all our gratitude,

The extended family of the Center

On the occasion of our fall 2023 publication of the volume Successions of the Private Law Dictionary and Bilingual Lexicons series, the Paul-AndrĂ© CrĂ©peau Centre for Private and Comparative Law – in partnership with Éducaloi and Me Étienne Cossette-Lefebvre (Canada Graduate Scholar in Honour of Nelson Mandela and Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation grantee) – has created a series of videos with the goal of improving access to basic knowledge about succession (estate) law in Quebec.ĚýĚý

In this series of videos, Me Étienne Cossette-Lefebvre responds to the question “Which will to choose?...” – explaining not only the advantages and disadvantages of the various types of wills (notarized, holograph, in the presence of witnesses), but also what to do when there is no will.ĚýĚý
