The 2023 McGill World Restart a Heart Campaign has been our most impactful one to date.

Here are some highlights:

  • Our Campaign has continued to expand in Canada, bringing us one step closer to our goal of creating a pan-Canadian sudden cardiac arrest initiative.
  • We hosted bystander resuscitation booths on four different campuses, including McGill downtown and Outaouais campuses, Université de Sherbrooke as well as McMaster University.
  • Educational booths were also set up in three McGill-affiliated hospitals across Montreal, including The Jewish General hospital, The Royal Victoria hospital, and The Montreal Neurological Institute.
  • Close to 1,150 visitors learned about AEDs and safely practiced hands-on bystander CPR on simulated manikins at our 2023 booths.
  • To continue in our goal of educating McGill students, we presented our Campaign in-person to 13 classrooms, spanning students in computer science to psychological statistics and everything in between.
  • One virtual event, held on October 11th, 2023, and viewed by over 170 attendees, discussed the spectrum of care needed for sudden cardiac arrest survivors to make optimal recoveries. Available to watch .
  • A partnership was created between McGill WRAH and a Sudden Cardiac Arrest Survivorship Group, where students had the opportunity to learn from over 15 survivors.
  • A bilingual social media campaign was shared on all media platforms, including Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
