First Nations Woodcarvings in Bronfman

The glass cases located on the fifth floor of Bronfman building house a selection of carved wooden masks, all of which were fabricated by First Nations Artists from the Canadian Northwest Coast. Carvings such as these were traditionally crafted for ritualistic purposes, but the examples shown in this display are art objects intended to be shared amongst an international audience.
