The Division of Urology at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ has 19 full-time urologists practicing in four teaching hospitals and 6 full time scientists attached to the Research Institutes of the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Health Centre and the Jewish General Hospital.
Each hospital has a defined role and specific clinical and research expertise. Urologic oncology is primarily located at the Cedars Cancer Centre while infertility, andrology, BPH, genitourinary reconstruction and stone disease are largely performed at the Royal Victoria and Lachine hospitals. The Jewish General Hospital is responsible for neurophysiology, functional urology, urologic oncology, and focal therapy of prostate cancer. Pediatric urology is performed at the Montreal Children hospital and at the Shriners hospital. This concentration of clinical and research expertise allows to provide optimal care for our patients and facilitates the education and training of students, residents, and fellows in these respective fields of urology.
Basic and clinical research have an important role in our Division. Our research teams are supported by 6 full time scientists and attract graduate students from around the world to train with us and help bring the latest discoveries from the laboratory to our clinical practice. They allow us to provide new and cutting-edge treatment opportunities while contributing to the development of our field and offering the latest technological advancement to our patients.
Our hospitals represent centers of excellence with an ideal environment for the training of residents in a comprehensive program while providing the infrastructure for research training. The availability of such a variety of research and clinical expertise create excellent fellowship opportunities in every discipline of urology.
