From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Green Labs Expansion

The Green Labs Expansion is a $50,000 envelope of SPF funding to assist labs on McGill campuses to adopt sustainable best practices learned from previous SPF projects.ÌýTeams can request a maximum of $5,000 for their project.ÌýApproved funding will be available to teams for one year to assist them in creating a proof of concept to secure long-term funding for these practices.

Eligibility

For your project to be eligible, it must:

  1. Be led by a current McGill student or staff;
  2. Take place on a McGill campus;
  3. Be sustainability-focused and managed sustainably;
  4. Involve and benefit the McGill community;Ìý
  5. Have a reasonable budget that makes sense in the context of the project's scope and people reached; and,
  6. Have been approved by your PI.

Application Process

Applications to participate in the Green Labs Expansion are due on the 1st of every month, while funding lasts. The SPF Staff will respond to your application within two weeks of the submission date.

  1. Review the SPF Reference Documents to make sure your project fits the scope of the SPF
  2. Download and complete the Green Lab Application FormÌýand the Green Labs Expansion Project Budget Form
  3. Submit your completed application formÌýusing the webform below.
  4. Hear back from SPF staffÌýwithin the two weeks of the application deadline to provide you with feedback.
