Montreal West Island IUHSSC Ethics Advisory Service Training Day on Ethics Training day in ethics in the context of hospitalization and long-term care
Every day, teams, users and their loved ones make decisions regarding care and services. These decisions are not always medical, sometimes they are ethical. These situations often seem complex and sometimes it is difficult to make a fair and acceptable decision.
To address this issue, the Ethics Advisory Service of the Montreal West Island IUHSSC invites those working with users and their families to take part in a training day focusing on ethical issues.
Themes addressed:
Shared decision-making and level of care
End of life care
Organizational ethics
Elderly care
Mental health care and cognitive impairment
Objectives
Using case study, in relation to the issues addressed, at the end of the day participants will be:
Aware of ethical dilemmas/issues in relation to the themes addressed
Capable of identifying an ethical problematic
Informed on the helpful strategies and available resources
For whom:Â Health care professionals, orderlies, auxiliaries, nursing, managers, administrative staff, doctors, etc. all are welcome
Cost :Â $50.00 (including coffee breaks and lunch)
