Do you want to run for an exec position in the South Asian Studies Students Association? Elections are here! Members of the SASSA executive must have declared the South Asian Studies minor to be eligible to run for elections. If you haven’t declared the minor yet but intend to, please email and inform SASSA that you have requested Service Point to change your curriculum status on Minerva. When your minor declaration status on Minerva has been updated, please email us the proof as soon as possible so that your eligibility in the elections and polling isn’t impacted. Next, please look at to understand each position's detailed role and responsibilities. The available positions are as follows:
- The President
- The Vice-President External
- The Vice-President Finance
- The Vice-President Internal
- The Vice-President Communications
- The Vice-President Event
The deadline to send in your nominations is March 26th at 11:59 pm. Here are the instructions for nominations:
- Please review the . Candidates do not need to collect signatures for nomination. They must only confirm their enrollment in a South Asian Studies program for the following academic year.
- Candidates must submit pen sketches, photographs, and candidate information as follows. Please provide your student ID number, full name, department name, position sought, McGill email address, phone number, signature, and date in your nomination package. Please combine your pen sketches (in English and French, max 100 words), photograph, and candidate information into a PDF and title it: NAME_SASSA23ELECTIONS_POSITION. Please also provide a screenshot proving your enrolment in the minor from Minerva. Please submit these documents to sassa.aus [at] mail.mcgill.ca, and the SASSA Exec will send them to Elections AUS for polling. Submissions.electionsaus [at] gmail.com must approve all election campaigning material during the campaign period (including posters, Facebook events, etc.; consult the AUS by-laws to ensure you don’t violate any election rules).
