CDSI Speaker Series: Andre Vachon
The CDSI Speaker Series welcomes Andre Vachon for a talk titled Data Science of the Cloud: "The cloud is a collection of millions of individual computers, loosely connected across the world. The scale, security and compliance requirements of the cloud create many challenges for the collection and analysis of the cloud’s operating data. We will present in detail some of these specific challenges along with the approaches we used to enable deep analytics of the cloud performance and reliability."
The talk (2:30-3:30pm) will be followed by a reception (3:30-4:30pm).

About the speaker: Andre Vachon (McGill B.Sc. Computer Science, '91, Scarlet Key '91, Founder and first president of McGill Computer Science Undergraduate Society) spent over twenty-five years at Microsoft (1991-2018), working on major projects such as Windows, Visual Studios, Skype, and Azure Cloud. He has also worked for Amazon Web Services (2018-2020) and holds five US patents.
