Hanna Johannesson
Hanna is an undergraduate student at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ in the Bachelor of Music Faculty Program (Flute) with a joint major in Psychology. She has worked both as a support worker and music teacher for individuals with ASD. Hanna is interested in how music can facilitate social connections and other positive experiences for individuals with ASD. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a career in music therapy, teaching and performance.

Andrea Cordeiro
Andrea is an undergraduate student at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ studying Psychology with two minors: behavioral Neuroscience and Sociology. In her first year, the Behavior, Autism, and Neurodevelopment Research Group captured her attention, as she has always been passionate about music and children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Working at a summer camp with kids who had various disabilities allowed her to gain experience. It also further encouraged her passion for these children. As a research assistant, Andrea hopes to learn how music can positively affect those with ASD and find ways to help them in their daily lives. Andrea hopes to become a child psychologist after her bachelor’s degree.

Gillyan Xu
Gillyan is an undergraduate student at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ studying Neuroscience with a minor in Psychology. In her second year at McGill, The Behaviour, Autism, and Neurodevelopment (BAND) Research Group's work caught her eye, as it studied the relationship between two subjects she has always been extremely passionate about - music and neuroscience. Paired with her experience working with children with ASD in her past jobs, Gillyan’s interest in these two fields made her want to learn more about how music can impact neurodevelopment of individuals with ASD. After her bachelor's degree, Gillyan hopes to pursue graduate studies in neuroscience or psychology.

Marie de la Sablonnière
Marie is an undergraduate student studying Cognitive Science at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ. Guided by her long-standing interest in research and her fondness of people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), she joined the Behavior, Autism and NeuroDevelopment Research Group in Spring 2021. As a research assistant, Marie hopes to better understand the musical and perceptual strengths of people with ASD and help youths leverage their strengths and passions. She is particularly keen on learning about how musical interventions could help youths with ASD initiate actions and interactions in their daily lives. Marie is interested in both clinical and research careers, and she hopes to pursue her studies in child psychiatry or neuropsychology.
