Charles Dewey Day, 1853-1855

Charles Dewey DayIn 1853 the Board of Governors named Charles Dewey Day as the fourth Principal of McGill. Day accepted the position on a temporary basis and resigned as soon as he could be replaced in 1855. He also served as President of the Royal Institution, 1852-1864, and as Chancellor, 1864-1884.
