HANNAH DESKIN is the Collection Manager and Registrar of within the University Library’s ROAAr unit that includes Rare Books, the Osler Library of the History of Medicine, Visual Arts Collection and University Archives. One of her primary responsibilities is managing the Visual Arts Collection’s database, which documents the history of each object in the collection from acquisition to conservation treatments and facilitating loan activity. In 2019, Hannah was a collaborator in the Library’s SSHRC-funded Play On! Program, which explored the benefits of Serious Play in academic research libraries and higher education. Hannah obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Art History in 2019 from McGill, where her focus was on public art and cultural policy, with a special focus on Indigenous art and resurgence. Hannah is currently pursuing graduate studies at McGill’s School of Information Studies.
