Residency Program Committee (RPC)
The Pediatrics Residency Program Committee (RPC) assists the Program Director in the planning, organization, and supervision of all aspects of the pediatric training program. All other committees within the program report to the RPC.

Competence Committee
This committee assists the Program Director with the following responsibilities: review dossiers of residents experiencing academic or professionalism-related difficulties, as identified by ITERs, medical students evaluations of teaching performance or supervisors;   mandate remediation and/or probationary programs, as per McGill’s Postgraduate Medical Education rules of Evaluation and Promotion; monitor progress of residents with academic difficulties; and Review and approve CITER and FITER reports prepared by the Program Director.Â

Selection Committee
This committee assists the Program Director and the RPC with the selection of candidates applying for positions in the Pediatric Residency Program (entry level or otherwise). This involves specifically application reviews, selection for and performance of interviews. This committee is also responsible for reviewing the updating the selection process on an ongoing bases in order to ensure that our process is evidence-informed and designed to select for the values, attributes, and skills that align with our program.
Competence-by-Design Steering Committee
The CBD Steering committee mandate is to support and guide the McGill Pediatrics residency Program in its transition and implementation of Competency Based Medical Education (CBME) and Competency By Design (CBD), ensuring alignment with the RCPSC and McGill PGME requirements.
Advanced Pediatrics Committee
The General Pediatrics Fellowship Committee supervises and coordinates the training of fellows in the various General Pediatrics Fellowships, which currently include Academic Pediatrics, Pediatric Complex Care, Social Pediatrics, Neonatal Follow-up, Gender Variance, and International Neonatal Medicine.
Responsibilities of this committee include:
- Address crosscutting pedagogical, administrative and scheduling issues (i.e. call requirements for fellows, common protected teaching sessions, recruitment of new trainees) shared by all the General Pediatrics fellowships.
- Review the academic progress of General Pediatrics fellows in training, make recommendations for remediation or termination for General Pediatrics fellows in academic difficulty, and confirm satisfactory completion of training at the end of fellowship.
- Review individual Fellowship Reports, including program descriptions and learning objectives, prior to submission to the Pediatrics Residency Program and Ï㽶ÊÓƵ every 2 years (as required by Ï㽶ÊÓƵ).
- Review requests for new General Pediatrics Fellowships as they arise and advise on strategies to help build new fellowship programs.
- Address work and union issues, as they relate to fellowship education and training.
Rotation Coordinators Committee
This committee consists of rotation coordinators representing the 40+ rotations offered as part of the pediatrics program. The committee meets three times per year to review common issues that arise across rotations.
