PHOTOGRAPHER: Manjurul Haque, PhD candidate After finishing Veterinary School, I did a Master in Veterinary Parasitology in India. For my Master thesis I worked on population dynamics and diagnostics of ticks and tick born diseases. At that time I developed a keen interest in parasitology and was looking for a research institute which is devoted to research on parasites for my higher education. I joined the Institute of Parasitology as a PhD student in Dr. M E Scott’s lab in January 2015. As part of my doctoral research, I am trying to understand the effect of protein malnutrition, nematode infection and nematode induced alteration of maternal microbiota on fetal and perinatal growth and development, using pregnant CD1 mice and Heligmosomoides bakeri model. Beside working in lab, I am a hobbyist photographer without any formal training. |
