Haleh Cohn - Science Communication Intern
Biography:
Haleh Cohn is a BSc candidate at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ in Anatomy and Cell Biology, minoring in Economics. Since starting at the OSS as a Science Undergraduate Research Award (SURA) recipient in 2022, she has been transforming scientific concepts into accessible and engaging narratives. Haleh supports the communications team in delivering the Weekly Digest newsletter, and promoting the OSS’ social media presence.
Haleh has been invested in on-campus student initiatives, empowering women and underrepresented genders in STEM with Scientista McGill, and raising awareness for blood donation with the McGill Students’ Blood Donation Association.
Haleh is interested in bridging the gaps between clinical research and health policy. She has leveraged her science communication training through internships at the Ajmera Transplant Centre and the Gattuso Centre for Social Medicine. She hopes to continue on this path to promote science literacy, support underserved groups, and contribute to health care innovation.
In her free time, Haleh is on a mission to find the Plateau’s best cafés and thrift stores!
